Are you over 18 and diagnosed with or questioning if you have autism, and want to meet new people and make friends?

Join us twice a month on Fridays, 5–7pm, in a calm, autism-friendly café space on the ground floor of the YMCA in central West Bromwich. The space is reserved just for our group and offers large street-facing windows, easy-to-navigate access, excellent public transport links and nearby parking. Whether you come regularly or just once, you’ll be welcomed into a supportive community where people can connect, build confidence and form meaningful friendships.
Some people come along looking for information about local services and leave feeling genuinely supported and heard. Our connector, Jim, has nurtured the group for over four years. He gently guides conversation, shares helpful resources and leads relaxed games, helping to create a safe, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. We understand that many autistic people experience low confidence, loneliness or social anxiety. Here, you’re invited to be yourself, share what’s on your mind and spend time with like-minded peers.
You’re welcome to drop in fortnightly, come along to a specific session or move between groups in a way that works for you. Our regular meetups help people build trusting relationships and access ongoing support. If you, a friend or a family member would like to know more, please get in touch. We’ll be happy to share the current timetable and answer any questions.
