Are you 16+ years and experiencing barriers to employment due to health conditions or disabilities?
Join us twice a month, 5 – 7 pm, at a calm, autism friendly café space on the ground floor of the YMCA in central West Bromwich. This space is reserved just for our group, with large street facing windows, easy-to-navigate access, and both excellent public transport and parking. Whether you come regularly or just once, this is a place to feel part of a community. Attendees often share that they feel more connected, grow in confidence, and make meaningful friendships.
Some come seeking information on local services and leave feeling truly supported and heard. Our connector, Jim, has fostered this group for over three years. He guides gentle conversation, shares helpful resources, and leads relaxed games; creating a safe and fun atmosphere. We understand that many autistic people face low confidence, loneliness, or social anxiety. Here, you’re invited to be yourself, share what’s on your mind, and simply enjoy being with like-minded peers.
Attendees are welcome to drop in fortnightly, join in for a specific session, or hop between groups as they please. Our regular meetups help build trusting relationships and sustained support. If you, a friend, or family member are interested, please contact us. We’re happy to share our current timetable and answer any questions.
