For Funders

JST directors have combined experience of over 30 years of dealing with challenging individuals and those with complex needs, which put them in a pivotal position in meeting the needs of this group.

JST  has developed a strong reputation of being a dynamic organisation that is going the extra mile for the people they serve by being the advocates they need.

JST tackles the problems that their clients are facing head on, ensuring the support is there for the most chaotic, at risk individuals, and those have fallen through the net.

What is innovative about our approach?

JST has embraced an ethos of daring to care and going the extra mile to meet the needs of their clients in simple and subtle ways, which really make all the difference. The JST offices are an open access centre:  clients can drop into the centre and receive pivotal support, 1:1 sessions and IT assistance when required. We offer weekly client appointments, as well as regular phone calls and text messages through the week,to help keep people motivated and feel less isolated.

JST also brokers three  appointments with clients  in order to ensure that 1) they attend 2) the right questions are asked 3) and to give them extra confidence that we are supporting them. We have received feedback from many clients that this is a valuable service, and that many  have nobody else that does this for them or with them. JST reaches out to clients on an outreach basis, as often is required. We believe that every person matters and with the right stimulation and training everyone has the power to reclaim their lives and have a positive impact for themselves, their families and the communities where they live.

Partnership Working

JST works with various partners – referral agencies include Dudley MBC, DWP, West Midlands Police, The Princes Trust, DWP, housing support agencies, statutory & non-statutory organisations and Supporting People services through Dudley Council.

We want to help people to gain the confidence to engage with these services, and when they do engage with them, we want to work alongside them to ensure that they as an individual get the support they need to be successful.

JST’s specialist capacity lies in working holistically with the most difficult to place people who often have chaotic lifestyles and multiple needs.

Many of our clients face a range of needs including:
– Long Term unemployment
– Low or no educational attainment
– Those struggling with drugs and alcohol
– People with criminal convictions
– People with a history of mental health issues
– People with housing issues
– People with complex needs
– People from problem or broken families
– Learning difficulties

We have a range of experience of supporting people facing issues like the above, and they are often facing a combination of the above issues which many agencies call “multiple needs”.

Whilst we are experienced in working with individuals with a range of complex and challenging needs, we know that we are not specialists and we know our limits. JST has the  client at the centre of what we do and ensure that  our focus is on making sure that the  client is supported to get them the help from the specialists that they need and then to help fill the gaps in between.

Other relationships JST has forged strong links with are organisations, companies and businesses that help JST to help their clients realise make their goals become reality.
